Woodlands Road Junction Improvements

This project is due to start in 2026

Project details

To improve traffic efficiency and safety, we’re changing the existing priority roundabout into a signalised crossroads. This upgrade is designed to better coordinate vehicle movement between this junction and Moorfield Road / Woking Road. Thereby easing congestion and reducing exit blocking that currently occurs between the two junctions

A formal signalised pedestrian crossing is being installed to make it safer and easier for people to cross Moorfield Road.

Design

The design of the Woodlands Road Junction improvement scheme formed part of Weyside Urban Village outline planning application, (2020) which was subject to public consultation Some variations may have been incorporated into the final design resulting from either the Road Safety Audit and/or feedback from the Highway Authority (Surrey County Council).

This General Arrangement drawing is the final design of the Woodlands Road Junction improvement scheme. It has been approved by the Highway Authority, confirming that it complies with all the required safety and functionality standards. It is a technical drawing showing the layout, position of key structures, and access routes.
