Enhancing Guildford's Community
Upgrades to the electricity network form an important part of the Weyside Urban Village regeneration, helping to provide a reliable power supply for both existing residents and the new homes being built. UK Power Networks (UKPN) has been delivering these works, including the installation of new underground electricity cables across Bellfields and Slyfield, together with a new electricity substation to support the development.
Works completed
- The underground cable works across Bellfields Road and surrounding areas have now been completed.
- A new electricity substation has also been constructed as part of the wider infrastructure programme to provide power for the new Weyside Urban Village.
- In addition, upgrades to the Guildford Grid Substation at Woodbridge Road were carried out to strengthen the local electricity network and support future demand.
Latest update
The electricity infrastructure upgrades are now substantially complete, allowing the wider regeneration works across the site to continue, including highways improvements and preparation for new homes.
