Moorfield Junction Improvements

This project is due to start in 2026

We’re making key improvements at the Moorfield Road junction to improve traffic flow and ease congestion.

Project details

The improvements include:

  • Extending the left-hand lane on the Moorfield Road junction by 71 meters to improve capacity and assist left-hand turns
  • Widening the northbound lanes on approach to the junction so that two HGVS can pass each other safely
  • Widening the industrial estate exit
  • Adding a new southbound exit lane toward the Woodlands Road junction to help ease congestion.

Design

The design of the Moorfield Junction improvement scheme formed part of Weyside Urban Village outline planning application, (2020) which was subject to public consultation. Some variations may have been incorporated into the final design resulting from either the Road Safety Audit and/or feedback from the Highway Authority (Surrey County Council).

This General Arrangement drawing is the final design of the Moorfield Junction improvement scheme and has been approved by the Highway Authority, confirming that it complies with all the required safety and functionality standards. It is a technical drawing showing the layout, position of key structures, and access routes.
